It features a generous 4 ½” wide clamping width when open, four round (yet flat on top) bench dogs that can be moved for odd-shaped objects (this makes it an ideal carving vice), and a tough 1” thick MDF top. There are three different clamping options available – dowels, clamps, or screws, making it shine as both a permanent or portable woodworking vice.
